I am really nervous to do this but i have never had any issues with technibble so here goes.

this is my website www.teccs.co.uk

I am finally happy with how the website looks theme wise (modern but clean and simple) and how it works. A lot of local repair companies are flashy or look old fashioned or are just to stuffed with information take a long time to load (don't wat to put their links here). I am looking at improving pages and adding new pages etc to be more specific in services. I can do some basic key word reserch and have got yoast SEO plugin on my wordpress website. done all the analytics for speed etc.

I just cant seem to start to make my content look great and read right without looking like I am keyword stuffing or listing or being to complicated for the users I am targetting.

Any advice on where to start etc how to do it?

just help please

Thanks

Yeah, writing website copy can be chellenging. My advice when you start out is to not focus too much on keyword but instead focus on speaking to your ideal client and his or her needs. Keywords will naturally come out of that and if you want to start focusing on SEO keywords later you can write blog posts or create landing pages around those words.

A good place to start is to think about some of your favorite websites. The ones that got you to buy something or made an impession on you. Look at how their copy is structured and borrow elements from that.

When you're writing copy, focus on the pain your potential clients might be feeling. Then talk about how you're going to alleviate that pain.

Finally, if you're still struggling, look into hiring a copywriter if you can afford it. After all, you're a tech, not a writer...there are people that do that for a living!

One man band small not that established so unfortunately can't affrd a copywriter. I will take what you have said into account though thanks and will put into practice the rest of the advice thanks

Some observations.

1. Personally I'm not a fan of those contact popups as soon as one enters a site.
2. You mention that you are local in three different places on the main page.
3. Good writing take time, patience and planning. Start with an outline for each page. This is just for the text content.
4. The archives is a nice touch.
5. While it's obvious what you do but there is not much else in terms of information. Maybe use the bullet points for hyperlinks to expand on services.

I can change/delay the popup if you think that would be better. i will look at maybe changing the locallity in 3 places to just 1. i think the hyperlinks and bullet points is a great idea. I have an idea for that now you have mentioned it

thsnks for your time

I've never been a fan of blog styled "business" websites. I have seen very few that use a good theme too hide the fact it is blog software based. Call me old fashioned, but I get the most enjoyment out of creating my own design. That being said, briefly reading over your site, there are a numbers of things that could be worded differently to draw more attention from potential customers. One thing I have learned over the years is with content, less is more. My old site was FILLED with information, and sadly, too much content. My new site was cut down by 80%.

The layout of your site is nice and minimal but try to get your point across without being too informational. You want customers to use your site, not get overwhelmed or worse, bored because they a sifting through tons of text.

yes I am currently working on the the informational side and aiming for the what can i do for you.

There is only me here at TECCS and I find this sort of thing quite difficult however can't afford anyone to do it for me. once I get started It will be fine fingers crossed. Thanks for the input

My only suggestion is to get rid of the archive section for the blog and move the testimonials over there. On the desktop it's OK length, but to make it mobile friendly, you want the length as short as possible. The "what we do" section, I'd make that a table to take advantage of the white space on the right.

It appears you are targeting mainly residential customers, so I would definitely make it mobile friendly, since there is a good chance they don't have a PC working to view the page on. For me, roughly 66% of my traffic comes from cell phones. Even for my business account.

In your contact us dialogue box, make sure you have a phone number field for the above reason. If the computer doesn't work, they may not have access to e-mail. Plus, better to promote an over the phone call, especially for new clients.
