no sound only bluetooth

Vista 32 bit

I have hp DV9000 cant get sound thru speakers it is set to bluetooth audio free thats the only choice
when I go to control panel sound it only shows bluetooth in playback
I tried a system restore, tried reinstalling driver failed says could not find media device for driver
Removed battery rebooted
in device manager it only shows bluetooth under sound, tried rigth clicking and un-installing then scan for changes

Download all drivers for that laptop from HP site - one of them is sure to get it going...

Ok, did you go through the whole virus/junkware cleanup process ?

I should note that the DV6000/9000 is prone to southbridge failures due to heat and that
can affect any "slow I/O" ports including sound.

I agree with Jimbo there...the fact that you have a running DV9000 is what blows me away...

I bought a USB sound device $15 it installed and magically the sound worked without it, it used coxentant sound driver maybe it was the same as onboard.
