I don't know about the rest of you but the rug got pulled out of our business this month. Our larger store has been VERY dead the last two weeks and our smaller one is worse. We thought that we would put on our speedos and parade up and down the street but ........no. Five old men in speedos - I don't think so!
We're in a semi-rural and vacation area with minimal businesses. The ones that are here are small ones and most aren't interested in MSP. We do have about ten businesses we take care of but most of our business is end-user.
This has given us time to think.......
We are (and I'm sure you are too) seeing a trend of the demise of desktop and laptop repair for customers and most are using their cell phones and tablets instead. We used to do service on both of these but made a conscientious decision to drop servicing cell phones and tablets. BEST DECISSION MADE!!
We used to sell at least 5-10 desktops a week and 3-5 laptops but no more. We did really great with refurbished Dell and HP business class computers but we are getting VERY concerned about the impending Windows 11 'invasion'. Most of the raw refurbishable computers we can get will 'theoretically run Windows 11. We know there are patches out there to install Windows11 on these machines but we are sure that Microsoft will put a halt to that and we will NOT sell them with Windows 11 for that reason! Hopefully newer Gen 8 or newer refurbables will become available soon.
Just our food for thought. Your thoughts?
