[REQUEST] PC switches itself off while booting into Windows

Check for any tiny swelling on any of the electrolytic caps if it has any. It seems to me as a board problem, soon as it requires more power it fails, so if its not the psu, then its on the board somewhere, im nudging towards maybe the northbridge power rail, check caps on this rail or even measure inducter to ground and see if its shorting directly or showing a few ohms. Tricky without testing various parts of circuitry.

I had a Windows 7 computer last week that you turned and as soon as it booted to Windows went straight to shutting down. In the end I tested with only a mouse connected and found the problem to be the keyboard. Changed the keyboard for a new one and no problem. Worth a punt just test with a mouse connected and see if the computer stays on then try with a new keyboard connected.
