So we finally had a few slow days and got pretty caught up with our current work load, which means I had a few minutes today to take pictures of our work area. As you will see, its nothing like our lobby / retail area . . .
This is our main work area. The stacks of laptops you see in the corner is a few of the laptops we have purchased recently for parts or refurbishing. Most everything else is being worked on except for the desktops under the counter that need recycling.
Just another angle of the main work area.
This area is what used to be part of our reception pickup / drop off point. We had to close it off and make it part of the shop to make room for repairs. On the left side we do mostly cell phone and mobile device repairs. The middle section is where we check in all parts, retail, RMA, etc. The area on the right is where we do the work that requires lots of space like breaking down larger laptops (such as the G73 in the corner), desktops and gaming consoles. To see pictures of what it was before we made it part of the shop, go
here. Its the area behind the original counter and window.
Normally, there is a bit more going on here, but this is our diagnostic area. Most of these laptops are running memtest86+ or our motherboard diagnostic. The hard drive tests get done in a different part of the shop on one machine.
And this messtrocity is my office area . . . sorta.
I am a firm believer in sticky notes . . . . they are everywhere if you look carefully.
This room is way to small to get a good picture, but this is where all the computers, cell phones, mobile devices, etc. wait for parts or response (permission to go ahead with repairs). We also store packing materials in here as well. Several of those boxes are more laptops that we have purchased for parts or refurbs.
And this is another small room like the one above used for computers, cell phones, mobile devices, etc. that are waiting for pickup.
And then there is another room in the back that used for accounting and inventory.
