I've just found out I'm on page 2 under "remote computer repair" which I'm really pleased with as it's quite a tough keyword :) I got my first remote repair job through that site yesterday so now I'm hoping to push the remote repair side a bit more but I was hoping for some advice on how to get it ranked on page 1.

The site has a pagerank of 0 which is a bit odd. I take it I'm doing something google doesn't like, but I can't figure out what. There are no invalid links, it's html/css valid, i'm not on any linkfarms.

Also, does anyone else do remote computer repair as a side line or as their fulltime job?

We do alot of remotes. Think page 2 or 3 on google for that search and 1st page for another.

I looked and did not see you on page 2 but i'm probably connecting to a diff server then you when searching.

1st page or near the top very very hard to get. The one guy has been establised for quite some time.

Interesting - the domain is www.remotecomputerrepair.co.uk not my bristolcomputerrepair.co.uk site. I've noticed 2 or 3 of the links on the 1st page point to very similar sites.

How many jobs do you get on average per week if you don't mind me asking?

Prob do at least 8-10 but could do more if we had the resources. I now a person that does "only" remotes and averages about 10-15 per day.

Suggestions?

Proper Meta tags? Done
Proper Title tags? Done
CSS layout instead of Tables? Done
Google Analytics? Done
Solid keyword density without spamming? Done

So you have all the basics done. You are only missing out on a few things. First up, while you have the robots meta tag you really should still have a robots.txt file. And next up THIS search shows that you have no backlinks at all. You really do need those to make the front page consistantly.

I've just revamped my website and I'd appreciate your opinions please :)

Here

I'll work on the backlinks too - cheers

Overall, a nice looking site. I find the Pricing, Testimonials... line almost invisible. Also, your "Contact Us" info should include a business address and possibly a map, if you also do in-shop repairs. What do you do if it requires an in-shop repair? Perhaps say so?

A few grammar suggestions:
1. "without leaving the comfort of your home" s/b "without you having to leave the comfort..."
2. "Remote Support saves the hassle of" s/b "eliminates the hassle"
3. "free of charge of issue you" s/b "free of charge or issue"

The text "disconnecting dozens of cables" is a gross exaggeration.

I would suggest changing "Remote Repair Services" to "Fixable Problems," and deleting "Our remote desktop support is affordable and can be performed at a convenient time for you, allowing us to repair just some of the following issues"

Delete the column "Remote Desktop Features," which would be gobbledygook to most customers, and it clutters the page, which is already overloaded with text.

Also consider changing "Our Services" to "Fixable Systems" or something similar.

HTH.

Thanks for the feedback.

This site is purely for remote repairs, so I have purposely left out my address and map.

I've taken on board some of your suggestions too.

Although, I have a dozen cables going into the back of my PC :D I assumed that was normal!

Can you post a screenshot of how it looks on your screen? Just so i know what to resize or move.

OK, here's a rolling screen shot from my 1280x1024 monitor. Hardly helpful as it automatically resizes to fit the screen. On my screen, the top of the page down to just below the second set of titles (How Remote PC Repair Works) is displayed.

Cheers

Larry

And here is a non-scrolling screen capture of what I would see at 1024x768 resolution. Rather overwhelming. Now I know what a blind person feels like when asked to describe an elephant. :D
