An alternative scenario may be he's getting existing employees to resign voluntarily so their jobs can re-advertised to others at a lower salary with longer hours - there won't be a shortage of applicants in the current economic situation.

There’s ways to do that without causing a major news incident or crippling the ability of the company to function. Companies do layoffs all the time. What’s happening at Twitter is just insane.

That will not save him from the certain-to-come spate of lawsuits from his backers over all this. And he can't shield himself even close to entirely from either legal or financial responsibility.

I think he's just finally been put in a situation where he's been left entirely to his own devices and the megalomania is completely unchecked.

This is unhinged, in every sense. The only people I feel sorry for are former and current Twitter employees. No one deserves what's happened except Elon Musk.

Maybe the people of this planet will finally internalize being an employee of anyone is akin to being enslaved to that someone? Which is why our governments are supposed to be huge, while the businesses are kept small.

This wouldn't be so bad if there was another twitter to go work for, but there isn't. And it's not like Meta and Truth social need all those people.
 
When I heard that Musk was suddenly reinstating Trump's account, all that ran through my mind was the line of dialog that comes before the number, I Simply Cannot Do It Alone, from Chicago: "And now, an act of desperation . . ."
