Fab's AutoBackup 6 Pro - a must have tool for techs

I love fabs. i have version 4 is the 6 really worth the upgrade?

Also i really feel if you dont reinstall office and other programs it will lead to problems.

I had version 4 as well and personally to me it was definitely worth the upgrade.

What do you use to generate the list?

We use d7ii. The "offline operations" section has the tools to do it.

How many computers to you N&P with Office 2013 installed? They do not store the full key and utilities like Produkey will not give you the answer. You have to run a script to get the last 5 digits, then log into their Microsoft account to redownload the product.

In life or computers, anyone that says "always" or "never" should be questioned.

Touche, I had forgotten about 2013. (And I NEVER say "always" or "never"! )

A new version was released this past week. If you purchased a copy of 5.x or 6.x you should be able to go back to the "store", login, click on the details of your previous order and download from the same link again to get the latest update.

Changed/Fixed : An error report prompt showed up when the "Backup in subfolder" box was checked and the backup sub folder text field was empty. So, the program was not able to save the backup report and various configuration files such as the one that contains the fonts registry informations.

I believe you just log in to your account on Fab's website and go to your purchased download area and it should be automatically be there at the bottom of the page.

I just now purchased Fabs 6. Got an email with my Paypal Receipt but have not gotten any instructions regarding downloading the program.
How long does it take to get notification on where to download the program?

Did you create an account when you made the purchase? If so, you can
1. log into your account, then
2. under the "My Orders" row, click on 'View the orders I have made'. You will then see your order.
3. Click on the view button and see the download link at the bottom of page.

At least that's how it works for me when downloading updates.

loving the program, v6 just increases the awesome level in functionality and ease of use- best program I have purchased I would say. I generally use reflect to create an image of drive as a counter-measure, then use Fabs.

Win 7 Home Prem x 64 and Office Home Small Business 2010, backed up all outlook etc - user connects to Exchange server.

Issue when opening outlook since the restore Outlook keeps asking for username and password. Never had this problem before.
Not an issue just thought I would share in case it is a bug.

Forgot to say love the program and it saves so much time well worth the money!

There have been numerous updates to AutoBackup 6 Pro so the FIRST thing you should do is upgrade to the latest version (there's no cost) and try again.

I am aware there have been updates to hence why I said I was using the original version 6.0, the reason for posting my issues as the update page makes no mention of the issue I was reporting.

Not able to try again as laptop has been returned to client.

I had something like this recently. What I had to do was locate the outlook exe file, then right click on it and run it AS ADMINISTRATOR. It might ask for the password or some other confirmation once. Do that, then close outlook. Now go back to the way you normally run outlook and see if it no longer does this. If its ok do the same for any other Office programs like excel, powerpoint, etc.

Changed/Fixed : - There was an issue with Outlook profiles handling when the source user name was the same as the current running the program. The needed registry key was not exported in this case and profile restore failed.
