That name is apparently historically accurate and, of course, properly describes the color in a real world manner that someone in the Middle Ages would understand. This is an instance where I absolutely would be thinking primarily about a "marketing department perspective." Clearly Plimoth Plantation Yarn doesn't have one. I know lots of folks who knit. This name would not be a selling point.
