As you know USB replaced the Serial Bus, but did you ever think why????

Essentially, a UART is the Serial Bus Chip.

If someone ever made a FAST version wouldn't that be a Universal Fast Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter?

What would the acronym be?

Hence ladies and gentlemen, we have USB and not UFART ports

Also, if Apple bought it, it would have been proprietary and called iFART.

In business school we learned about inventory valuation methods.

Last In, First Out - LIFO
First In, First Out - FIFO
Still Here, In Tact -

Yes, the professor actually discussed that in a lecture. No, it wasn't on the exam.

I found some of the the b-school teachers I had to be very interesting. Just the one's that had real jobs in the past. The two best were Statistics and Accounting.

The stat prof had been a statistician at NASA JPL back in the Apollo days. He quit after a few years because NASA management did not like risk numbers he came up with and wanted them changed. He showed us how you can re-design a statistical sampling to come up with the desired numbers.

The accounting prof, a CPA, had plenty of stories about how people cooked the books.
