Is the GPU bad?

I am thinking that she should just send it to Lenovo and have them fix it. She can reinstate her warranty for another 12 months for only $17.25, wait 30 days, then process a warranty claim.

They would fix the issues all for just $17.25.
I agree with sending it to Lenovo for repair -- out of warranty. Extending the warranty instead and then sending it in after 30 days is dishonest. I was surprised that ASUS will do out-of-warranty repair in Canada for just $85 CAD + parts. Toshibs's out-of-warranty repair service was also very kind, when they were still making laptops. It's worth getting a quote from Lenovo.

Lenovo or any other company that does it is fully aware of that. They get a bit of goodwill advertising and many people that pull that stunt will end up signing up for longer extended warranties on their next PC which most people never need to use. I ain't cryin' for Lenovo they make bank on warranty service. This "dishonesty" gets them more in new sales than they lose overall.

I'm not going to cry for Lenovo, either. If they are willing to reinstate a warranty for a fee, without asking the condition of the hardware on which said warranty is being reinstated . . .

Not to mention, any hardware young enough to allow for such a reinstatement should not be doing what this machine is doing anyway. This has LEMON! written all over it.
