Wow! Looks amazing though!

Now that's what I call a boot (trunk)! ..... I bet you can get a few PCs in there!

That'd be no good over here though; too many small roads and tight corners, not to mention tiny parking spaces ... I often struggle to find a space large enough to fit my S8!

Nah, the top folds into the trunk. It holds just about thing else! Talk about impractical. Inflation adjusted it cost 50K-60K and got 10 MPG. Requires premium gas. No usable trunk. Haha.

Jeez, 10mpg! I thought mine was a guzzler.

Do you have a tanker following behind when you drive it?

On the trip computer, my car can just about hit single figures, foot to the floor up a steep hill, but the rest of the time it hovers around 20mpg .... which is bad enough. I believe it can manage almost 30mpg, if driven gently ... but it never gets that chance! :D

I'm a sucker for the creature comforts too. Mine has all those, and even an electrically adjustable steering wheel. Of course all these things add weight, meaning you need more horses to pull 'em along if you wanna get anywhere quickly.

The thing is once you've had high performance or a high level of luxury, you just can't go back. I started my driving years driving a 1200cc car (I won't tell you what!) and with each change of vehicle I got more performance and more luxury. I've gone from a pathetic 1200cc vehicle in which having a radio was considered a luxury option, to pulling a palace around with a 4200cc V8 and almost 400 horses. There's a price to pay though; 20mpg at UK pump prices eating into my profit. It's still not enough to make me give it up though (I'd rather just work harder) .... in fact, if I ever have to get rid of my current car, I've been contemplating moving up to a 5200cc or 6000cc engine next time!

I think as you get older you appreciate the luxury and the amount of metal around you. I also used to have a pretty cool car when I was young. I had a 1970 Ford Fairlane with a 351 four banger on it. Now that Iam older I really do appreciate the luxury in the car.

Everyone gets there sooner or later I think.

Certainly the metal around you. Physics dictates that on the road it's often a case of 'survival of the biggest'. I do like the reassurance of a larger heavy car.

In the back, a 2009 RAM 1500 Sport Custom. 390hp HEMI, center console, sunroof, dual exhausts

Up front...my current Harley, mid restoration, Shovelhead FLHS (Electra Glide Sport). Yes I ride this to work and to onsites at clients.

If I am carrying equipment then I am in my Peugoet 308 SW but when it's warmer it's my Kawasaki ZRX1200S to nip about in. Do get some funny looks turning up in my bike gear.:D

Nice Harley!

How do guys with bikes carry computers?

There are a lot of jobs I do where all I need is my laptop. My larger corporate clients, where I have my own server room there, a desk, tools of the trade. My largest client (7x servers, 40 workstations, 30 laptops)...I'm there at a minimum once a week (every Tuesday)...and often a second day in the week.

My prior Harley, I had 2x leather saddle bags, plus a luggage rack over the rear fender which I'd bungee cord strap on smaller stuff if needed. Such as my laptop bag. My current Harley...it came with fiberglass hard saddlebags...I took them off but plan on either restoring them...or better yet...getting another pair of leather ones.

On days I know I have scheduled onsites where I'll likely need to bring stuff back, or deliver hardware...I take my truck. There has been a couple of days in the past where I've been on my bike and I either needed something larger from the office or needed to take something back...I've had one of the other guys swing by to cover that. Or I'll go back the next day with my truck. (think that's only happened once).

My office is just 12 minutes from my house..so if something comes up suddenly where I'll need cargo carrying...I can quickly zip home and swap vehicles. That's rare though...since we're all business clients, most things I do are planned on a schedule.

Ah! Makes sense.

I have a few predictable corporate clients like that, and most days go according to some sort of plan, but some days I don't know what I'm going to encounter or what stuff I'm going to need, so most of the time I drive around with a boot (trunk) full.

Even when I go to the more predictable jobs though, not carrying a good selection of stock can be a missed opportunity to sell something. Frequently I'll go to a job specifically to install or repair something for one user and another user 'collars' me about a problem with their screen, mouse, keyboard, etc. If I don't have one in the boot, they'll often pick one up themselves from elsewhere.

For our business clients, I've never had a situation where that would have worked for me. Spare mice, keyboards, monitors, workstations, and misc small items..they have it all in stock at their office. It was part of my initial setup and management..to make sure they're stocked with spares. ;) The larger clients even order workstations/monitors/Microsoft licensing direct...I'm literally just there for the most profitable sale...my consulting time. Yeah we'll sell the big ticket items...servers, SANs, etc . Misc items that they do purchase through us...simple..."drop ship".

Worse comes to worse though....the one or two times over recent years I've been on my bike but needed to haul stuff with my truck...and other staff of ours couldn't run something for me..I would just hop on the bike and head back and get my truck. 90% of our clients are within a 30 minute radius. The amount of "smile factor" that riding gives me during the week, distress, mood enhancing....is thousands...nay....millions of times worth it hands down. Can't think of a single instance where I lost out on anything because of it.

I might have the slowest car of all of you. Might have something to do with the fact it weighs 5700 pounds. Our daily drivers are much more prudent...

That's a fabulous Lincoln. What a beauty. Reminds me of JFK's car. Bet you it just floats along.

To the petrol-heads like me: These are just awesome cars. If you've never driven one, you should. Depreciation from new is staggering, meaning used ones are an absolute bargain and you get so much for your money.

Despite being a large car, with electric everything, all the toys and double-glazed windows, they have an all-aluminium (aka aluminum) body, making them relatively lightweight. The result is a 0-60 of a little over 5 seconds and, thanks to the Quattro AWD system, grip and handling that defies gravity. Super-car performance with the waft and luxury of a Limo. :)

I see why you got such a good deal on it. Someone screwed up and put the steering wheel on the wrong side.

:p
