Awesome system! I'd seriously consider buying it.

I'd like to see more detail in the "Check-in New System" page, like email address, street address, computer serial number, and computer physical condition. Also might like to see a spot for recording RAM and HDD size/usage.

Can the printed report be created as a PDF? That would look a bit more professional without the web page text at the bottom of the report. Would also give you the ability to save to PDF receipts.

I'll give the details thing more thought. I have thought about it before, but decided against it cause I don't want to clutter things up. I quite often just write the specs in the the "PC Model line" and information about the condition in the tech only notes. But an email address would be good. I will give it thought.

What I do is go into the browser page setup settings and turn of all the page header and footer stuff so that I get a clean printout.

I will keep it PDF support in mind, right now it is easy enough to use pdfcreator and print to it.

Right now I am focusing on things needed to be done to make a 1.0 version that people can start using. This week I have done a ton of cleanup, I've got a variable for the monetary symbol working, I got a user manager and authentication system in place instead of the old htaccess which allows a logout feature, a generic cc card function, and support for adding non-inventoried items to the cart.

I hope to get a video up soon, demoing the system.

Just thought of one other thing.... I have a label printer (Dymo) and was wondering how hard it would be to have the PC# printed on a label, possible with the store logo and information. Maybe this would be something that could be a user modifiable label depending on the label size and information desired on the label.

I like this. It is loads simpler than do-it-all CRMs out there.

However, I run into a problem when I get a PC to the checkout, but don't complete it. The system marks it as complete even though I didn't get payment. Also, adding inventory items to a repair order is not as intuitive as I would like. I keep doubling up the labor and items by accident.

Very nice work! One of the features I noticed is how you just type the word laptop in the model description and it puts up a laptop icon instead of a desktop one.

I'd buy it more for the PC records and quotes/notes.. I dont have a store or need POS or stock.. printing out the receipts at clients home would be sweet as well.

Couple of ideas:

Select a number of beta testers who will actually go through the steps of installing and using the product and give you feedback on what works/doesn't work. You can reward these folks with a discount when the product is released.

Depending on how many clients you end up with for your script, you should consider a support forum. I use several scripts (directories, third-party forum apps, etc..) where the user base provides almost as much tech support as do the primary developer(s). It would also be a good way to keep track of existing and potential clients and a convenient place for the above mentioned beta testers to post feedback.

And of course become a preferred vendor at cmonova's ACRBO site

I guess I would ask what you mean by design? Layout or Looks/Colors?

Being that the output is all done by printing a webpage right now, I would think I would have to figure out how to create the output as a pdf that would be size to print on a given label.

I actually think I have it ready for release. I should have a demo video up tomorrow, and I've added many of the features requested here that were trivial to add.

Well as far as creating PDF's in PHP, there should be an extension, but if not than try the tcpdf class

Question for you Stro: Can clients check the status of their repair using a restricted version of it? It would prevent a lot of clients calling asking if machines are ready. Just a thought.

Edit: pushing my luck here as well If you complete a job & say move it from status of WIP to finished, if a cell/mobile number is included text the customer to say it's finished?
