From the very site you quoted: https://covid19.healthdata.org/united-states-of-america?view=daily-deaths&tab=trend

I didn't quote from that site.

You may have noticed some of their other charts, where they give their projection, and a "Worse" projection, and a usually dramatically lower projection if 95% mask usage is adopted. One of the really cool things about this whole fiasco is, we now have about 1.5 years of hard data against which we can evaluate things, which contradicts their "Masks" projection. Charts can easily be found for any city, state, or country you want, showing cases and deaths over time. I can't count the number I've looked at that, when you mark the point at which a mask mandate went into effect, there's a sharp rise immediately after. Some places where there were several mask mandates, that pattern is repeated after each one. Try a few yourself and see if it's true.

Not my job to back up your claims. If you have a link showing data then post it. Statement without proof are gratuitous assertions not backed by evidence.

As @Sky-Knight notes Covid cases naturally go up after a mask mandate. After the whole reason for the mandate is the uncontrolled outbreak of disease. The only way your comparison is valid is with a control group. You compare two communities with similar demographics one with, one without mandates and see the results.

Also mandate data is useless without knowing the actual compliance rate. You can mandate all ya want but if no one obeys it then it can’t have much effect. It’s like the speed limit. Everyone is mandated to stay under 70 but most drivers exceed that.

We’ve just had our first case of community transmission here in New Zealand, for about 176 days, and the government isn’t mucking around.
Snap 3 day nationwide level 4 lockdown in case it’s the delta variant. Will know more today.
7 days for two the areas where this person has been in the last week which includes our biggest city Auckland.
Everyone must stay at home except for essential services workers or if you need to go to the supermarket, hospital or to get tested.
It’s been over a year since our last level 4 nationwide lockdown, which was also our first.

And we’re up to 10 cases now and still no link to the border so I’m sure this lockdown is going to be extended for a few weeks at least. :(

Once covid spreads among millions of children it will only get worse it will mutate to find a way around the immune systems of children and it will kill them just as easy as it does the old.
They need to make the vaccine based on the most prevalent strain also don`t believe any numbers the government gives you deaths are under reported in most countries as well as the transmission numbers things in Florida are much worse than what is on the news it is all about politics and cover up.

Have they determined whether one or more is the Delta variant? I've been following the situation in NZ but have not yet seen/read any information regarding whether they've isolated the variant this time around.
Yup confirmed to be the delta variant now.
Cases up to 21 today too, with students at two different high schools testing positive.
Numbers are going to grow quickly now I’d say.
We’ll know at 3pm Friday our time what will happen with the lockdown.
They have also now epidemiologically linked our outbreak to the strain that’s in New South Wales so they know where it came from.
Now they just need to figure out how it got past the border and the managed isolation facility.

You've lost containment... high vaccination rates actually make containing Delta impossible, as it creates a huge pool of people that are asymptomatic to pass it around. This is why lock downs don't make much sense, at least in terms of complete containment. They can and do slow spread which ensures medical resources aren't depleted.

The R0 of the Flu is 2.
The R0 of original SARS-COV-2 is 2 to 3.
The R0 of Alpha (Original UK variant), is between 4-5.
The R0 of Delta (Indian Variant) is somewhere between 5 and 10.
ChickenPox is the reference virus here, R0 of that is between 9 and 12.

Quarantine conditions have never stopped an infection with an R0 greater than 2.5! To further complicate matters the viral load created by Delta is sufficient to overwhelm any mask given sufficient time. But these are the tools we have, so these are the tools we use. Our best bet as people in the middle of this mess is to get our shots, ensure our loved ones get their shots, and enjoy the fact we are likely to get "sick" without even knowing it. The downside is, we're going to spread it. And in the meantime the unvaccinated among us get clobbered.

I just wish the FDA would authorize Pfizer for 5-12 year olds already so my last two kids can get their shots... I can't keep them home from school anymore, the mental impact is quite real. The schools just need to require vaccination to attend, and insurance companies will be doing the same to businesses. But in the US ALL of that is gated behind having a full authorization from the FDA for a vaccine. Emergency Use Authorization brings with it legal protections that prevent these actions from happening. But at the same time the FDA has a responsibility to do diligence on the safety an efficacy of the vaccines before that full approval to a greater degree than what's already been done.

So we wait...

Our vaccination rate is pretty low here in New Zealand, at the moment, but that’s starting to ramp up now. They’ve also just the other day authorised 12-15 year olds to be vaccinated.
My wife and I are booked in for our first shot in mid September which was the earliest we could get. They’ve said if you have a 12-15 year old just take them along and they’ll do them at the same time so our eldest wants to come along.

@cyabro Do you know which vaccination you're getting?

Also, everyone should check this out: https://www.allsides.com/blog/left-and-right-media-hype-death-push-biased-narrative-vaccines

It's a solid breakdown of how the media is manipulating the situation to keep both left and right wings riled up. If you want to know how fake news really works, in context of COVID... there it is.
Sorry yes. We’ve got the Pfizer vaccine only here in NZ. It’s the one I would probably have chosen anyway if given a choice.

Everyone in this house got that one, save the two little ones that are too young. Aside from it making me basically drunk for 12 hours, no real issues. The 2nd shot sucks the day after, but beyond that the 4 in this house that got it went on with life happily.

Things are really about to get bad now hospitals are starting to run out of oxygen in north america staff are quitting because most hospitals are running 120% over capacity as fall starts it will only get worse.

Numbers have started to spike around the world some pets in this area started dying from covid human to animal transmission a vet i have as a customer is seeing increased rate of transmission and deaths.

Really? You're going to recommend a book written by a former dentist that believes in sound healing?

This man peddles fiction for a living... you can see it in his book list on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Leonard-G-Horowitz/e/B0028AWFPI?ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_hsch_vu00_tkin_p1_i0

Might I suggest his "Healing Codes for the Biological Apocalypse" https://www.amazon.com/Healing-Biological-Apocalypse-Leonard-Horowitz/dp/B0974YVN71/

It seems right up your alley.

Has anybody here read this?

No. And for precisely the reason @Sky-Knight mentions above. Cursory research reveals immediately that the source is not reliable and the theories not valid.

@TechLady just said it best on another topic, in reply to something in a similar vein:

"This is a fancy way of saying "I don't know what constitutes good sources or critical thinking skills so hey, maybe the guy who lost his medical license isn't a quack, maybe the earth is flat, kangaroos are probably aliens...I mean, we'll never really know."

Intellectual laziness.
"

And that's if one wishes to be kind.

I just asked if anyone has read it. Nothing more, nothing less. Not sure why jumping to conclusions and attacking.

I started to read it, but it is pretty thick with lots of info. So, slowly making progress.

I believe the author started doing research, because of the AIDS scandal with the dentist in Florida. Hence, the relevance.

Either way, so far, regardless of the credentials of the author, the book provides good historical content in understanding how we got here, which in almost any circumstance/topic/domain/research, history provides just about all the answers. Including our computing field.

Thanks for the suggestion on the other book. If it was read from A to Z, what was the conclusion reading it?

I just asked if anyone has read it. Nothing more, nothing less. Not sure why jumping to conclusions and attacking.

Because "suggested reading" of what is, upon the most cursory of examinations, garbage, is worthy of attack. The coy bit about, "I just asked," is another classic deflection when one has been called-out clearly about unreliable sources.

It's akin to asking if you've read that great, and interesting, article in the National Enquirer as though it could be relied upon for veracity in any meaningful way.

I'm sorry if the very idea of, "Consider the source," which is the very foundation of clear critical thinking, eludes you. Recommending garbage material is worthy of, nay, requires, vigorous rebuttal.
