We still get many requestes for Windows 7 installs. I have wrestled with many different solutions for a clean install, including all updates, in a timely fashion. Usually I expect about 4 hrs for them to be "discovered" before the dl/install takes place. For some reason, since August, on many occasions, it would never even "discover" them. argghh.
Here is my solution:
First, after clean install TURN OFF AUTO UPDATES. (never install option).
Second- Install these two updates, then reboot.
Go to the following link to download Windows6.1-KB3102810-x64.msu
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49540
Go to the following link to download Windows6.1-KB3112343-x64.msu
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=50023
Note: Theses are 64 bit version. I'm sure a 32 bit version is available too.
After the reboot, (again make sure you have turned off auto updates), search for updates as you normally would.
In less than 30 minutes...usually around 15-20 you will be prompted to DL about 200 updates.
Rinse and repeat as necessary.

Now you can turn around these installs, complete, in a timely fashion.
