Sadly, it's almost me, too. I've been shocked at just how quickly my sense of balance has degraded over the last few years. It was almost sheer perfection up through about age 55, but since then . . .
Yup. I have to lean against a wall to put my jeans on anymore. Who is it that called these the Golden Years? lol

A tip I got from an 80 year old, When cleaning your teeth stand on one leg without leaning against the cabinet use one hand if you need to to assist with your balance. He is quite capable of standing on either leg for better than a minute, AND he reckons it shouldn't take me more than a minute to get either leg of my jeans on

Most of the time, I can put my jeans on without leaning against the wall. But I stay near it, in case I lean too far or catch a toe in the jeans and can't right myself.

Some reports say that balance is a good predictor of mortality. Here's one and here's another that seems to refer to the same research, and says...

"The study found that for those unable to complete the balance test there was an 84 per cent higher risk of death from any cause, and this link remained even when other factors -- including age, sex, BMI, and preexisting conditions or health risks such as coronary artery disease, hypertension, obesity, high cholesterol and diabetes -- were taken into account."

Sobering!
