So, a couple of days ago some woman came in from overseas to Elizabeth - an outer suburb of Adelaide.
She tested positive to Covid-19...
I went to Foodland today and there was a line of brain dead idiots with trollys full of toilet paper.
Roads are blocked around Covid testing places. The one at Elizabeth has an 11 hour wait time.

The maddness starts again...

I don't get this whole bulk-buying toilet paper thing. I mean, is sh1tting yourself to death even a major COVID symptom?

When the UK went back into lock-down recently, people were bulk-buying bog roll again. I could (almost) understand it the first time. It was a new virus with lots of unknowns so I guess some people considered one possible outcome and figured that bog roll would be a good investment. But this virus has been around a while now. If nobody you know shat themselves to death in the last wave of infections, why would you make hoarding bog roll a priority in subsequent waves? And besides, haven't these people got any bog roll left over from last time?

It seems that ignorance turns loo roll into a speculative commodity. I guess that it starts with a few people buying in bulk in the hope that there will be a shortage so that they can sell it at an inflated price. Presumably that then causes a minor shortage which triggers panic-buying, resulting in a major shortage and more panic buying, reaffirming the belief that it's a good idea to rush out and buy bog roll at the first sign of another wave of infections.

In the news today:
Mouthwash can kill coronavirus within 30 seconds, study finds

I guess people will be panic-buying mouthwash too now.

Hey, perhaps Trump will have his scientific advisors 'look into' the possibility of curing COVID by drinking mouthwash. Or, better still, by injecting it.🤪

Or snorting it......

Not that it isn't handy to know about additional topical solutions that can be used as "Covid Sanitizer" but what's the big deal? We already have it in the form of alcohol-based hand sanitizer?

You're certainly not going to "mouthwash away" an actual Covid-19 infection. And reducing amounts in saliva is an effect that will last probably minutes at most, given the way saliva production works.

I feel fairly certain that a wide number of commonly available substances will kill Covid-19, and quickly, when applied directly. But how that's supposed to help when there already exist cheap and effective and other commonly available substances I cannot fathom.

Clearly some government officials (who, I might add, are justifiably angered by the "reporting individual's" behavior) don't seem to realize that single-subject reports need to be verified/vetted, even in a cursory way, before imposing measures of this type and scale.

There's plenty of blame to go around on that particular mess.

This whole vaccine problem is more serious than governments are letting on first covid-19 mutates more than the common flu fact common flu has NEVER been wiped out even with vaccines same will happen with covid-19 everyone is placing hope that this will get life back to normal like the flu this will never happen only thing we can do is adapt to it.

It means we'll have to get shots twice a year until we achieve containment, it's not that big of a deal.

Also you're right we've never gotten rid of the Flu despite having a flu shot, but if you get that shot every year if you do get the flu it's a much milder case. Milder cases in COVID is how we get to 0% fatalities, that's how this nightmare becomes just another cold.

So bring on the vaccines already! Also these vaccines do not work like any other we've ever used before. They're more like immune therapies than vaccines... it's quite fascinating.

P.S. Universal Flu Vaccination is a thing being worked on, and progress is being made, it may not be as far away as people think: https://news.mit.edu/2020/universal-flu-vaccine-1007

Certainly not 'we'.
It will be, just as soon as someone's child dies because you didn't prevent the spread of a preventable lethal illness and pay the price for it.

I've already retained an attorney to fight that very fight, my son's life is worth more than your stupidity and ignorance.

I have followed most local cases most are from schools and daycares thing is they don`t want to shut them down but they are the major cause of the flair ups and still they are blaming family gatherings when the actual culprits are schools and daycare that are the spread vector.

After contact tracing it is either some high school or college or daycare that show up in the news.

While everyone still is waiting for vaccine health agencies have a major issue IF they should vaccinate the frail problem is it may kill them so some doctors on the panel are voting no.

Citation for this information, please. I haven't seen any reports of a single national or international health organization taking this position. In the USA nursing homes/assisted care facilities, both staff and residents, are first in line.

I have to say looking at the numbers of small businesses that got put out of business from covid-19 lock downs are not good seems the government does not care about the little guy as the requirements for government assistance does not cover them.

Quite a few of my customers fell into this category and are now gone problem is there is no out break of covid-19 in my area it is a blanket lock down that has rules that make no sense i thought the local health care unit would control that but no.

According to stats 200 000 small businesses had gone out of business due to covid-19 in Canada lock downs and the fact that they did meet requirements of government assistance while huge businesses like Walmart are allowed to stay open and sell non-essential goods.

If this keeps up i will have no choice but to close my store front most of my competitors have done so there will be a point where no medium business will meet requirements if this keeps dragging on according to researchers this will drag on for another 5 years.

seems vaccine may not be as safe as they say when used on very frail or terminal patients there is a large percentage dying from the effects of the vaccine this was only tested on healthy individuals.

check video above for more info.

Peer-reviewed source, please? The video is missing, but unless it were from an official medical body that was using peer-reviewed evidence, it's worse than useless.

I don't know how many times I, and others, need to repeat that if you're not going to cite sources that have been thoroughly vetted then you had ought not cite anything at all (or just skip posting).

Local news in Norway 23 frail patients died after getting the injection from common symptoms.
